PROBLEM STATEMENT
Student ownership of learning is a problem for students because students currently do not have enough choice in learning processes and environment and usually rely on teachers to lead their learning.
HOW MIGHT WE…
Increase student ownership of learning in order to increase student achievement and motivation by leveraging classroom and school space?
SOLUTION
Creating classroom spaces that promote student ownership of learning by being flexible and responding to students’ learning needs and preferences. The team implemented new noise level zones and furniture choices in several classrooms for students to have choices to customize their learning experiences.
