PROBLEM: Due to our intense overcrowding, we sought to increase the level of shared ownership and true collaboration in deployment of resources, time, and space.

SOLUTION: We focused on the redesign of physical environments for collaborative use of shared spaces, reorganization of collaborative time to maximize horizontal and vertical teaming, reorientation and clearer protocols for sharing resources like device carts and texts.

IMPACT: Measured increased teacher orientation towards collaboration and student use of shared spaces and resources.

We have more collaboration and teacher ownership of work than I remember seeing before – the true innovation in many ways turned out to be improved distributed leadership structures across the school for content and grade level work . . .” –Mary Beth Cunat, Principal of Wildwood
